Upgrading Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Hello everyone today I am going to write about upgrading ubuntu-desktop to 18.04 LTS

Step 1: Ubuntu Desktop for LTS Release

Open Dashboard and search for Software & Updates.

Click on update tab and select “for long-term support” version in “Notify me of a Ubuntu version”.

Step 2: Update Ubuntu Desktops

Open dashboard and search for “Software Updater”.

When it opens, click the button to Install Now

Step 3: Update Ubuntu to the next version

press Alt + F2 on your keyboard to open the run command box and type below command

update-manager -cd

In upgrade wizard click on upgrade as shown in below image

Simply follow the instructions

Click the Start Upgrade button

After Ubuntu is upgraded, you should be able to restart and start using the new Ubuntu!
